Where these allergists see patients

What an allergist does

An allergist finds out what is causing an allergy and follows people with allergic conditions over time. People see one for a runny nose and sneezing in the same season every year, hives, reactions to food, medicines or insect stings, and coughing or wheezing that comes on around dust or animals. A blocked nose without a season or itching is usually an ENT doctor’s area, and a rash unrelated to allergy is a dermatologist’s. Write down what seems to set off the reactions, and bring earlier allergy test results if you have them.

Frequently asked questions

Are an allergist and an immunologist the same doctor?

Often, yes: clinics frequently use the title “allergist-immunologist”, and such a doctor appears both in this list and among immunologists. With an allergy you go to an allergist; an immunologist is for when a general practitioner or pediatrician suspects a problem with the immune system.

Hives — allergist or dermatologist?

Hives that keep coming back or last for weeks are seen by both allergists and dermatologists. An allergist makes more sense if the welts appear after food, a medicine or an insect sting: they will help find the trigger. If the lips, tongue or throat swell along with the welts, or breathing becomes difficult, call 103 straight away.

Where can I get an allergy blood test?

Allergy blood tests are on the price lists of several laboratories, and you can compare prices in the Lab tests section. It is worth agreeing with an allergist on which allergens to test before you go: there are many panels and you usually do not need all of them. Skin prick tests are done in the allergist’s office — ask in advance whether the clinic offers them.

Do allergists see children?

Pediatric allergy has no separate list in the directory. When booking for a child, mention their age and the problem — the front desk will tell you whether the clinic’s allergist will see your child. For a rash, cough or blocked nose in a child, a pediatrician is a good first stop and will refer you to an allergist if needed.

How much does an allergist consultation cost?

4 of the 29 allergists in this list have a consultation price from the clinic’s price list on their page, dated when the list was taken. Tests and skin prick tests are paid for separately — ask the clinic or laboratory.

About this list

This list covers doctors whom Yerevan clinics name on their own websites: currently 29 doctors from 19 clinics. The list is incomplete and keeps growing; each card leads to a page with the practice location and the clinic’s phone number. There are no such doctors from other Armenian cities in the directory yet.

The districts with the most doctors on this list are Kentron (19), Arabkir (5), and Kanaker-Zeytun (4). The list includes 25 women and 3 men — you can choose with the “Gender” filter.

Cards where the clinic lists experience, education or a consultation price come first, then the rest. Within each group, cards with a photo come first. This is not a ranking: places in the list are not for sale. How we collect and check information

Doctors of related specialties are in the list above.

Medaro is a directory: we do not make diagnoses or recommend a particular doctor. Information about doctors comes from clinic websites; before your visit, check the appointment and the cost with the clinic.
