# Medaro > Medaro (medaro.am) is a medical information portal for Armenia: clinics, hospitals, pharmacies and laboratories in Armenia (Yerevan and other cities) with addresses, phones, opening hours and legal details; state health-insurance (UHIF / ԱՀԱՀ, "ВОМС") tariffs per organization; a "symptom → which doctor" navigator; diagnostics (MRI/CT/ultrasound) guides; emergency numbers. Available in Armenian, Russian and English (hy / ru / en). Every page exists in three languages with the same path: `/hy/...` (Armenian, default), `/ru/...` (Russian), `/en/...` (English). ## What Medaro is and is not - Medaro is a navigator: where an organization is, when it is open, what it costs under state insurance, which specialty deals with a given complaint. It is a directory, not a clinic. - No medical advice: the portal does not diagnose, does not prescribe treatment, does not give dosages and does not recommend medicines. "Symptom → which doctor" articles say which specialist to start with and when to seek urgent care — nothing beyond that; the rest is for a doctor in person. - Emergency in Armenia: ambulance **103**, unified rescue service **911** (**112** also works) — calls are free, the lines answer around the clock. By law, emergency and urgent care must be provided to every person regardless of whether payment for it is guaranteed (Law HO-42 on Medical Aid and Services to the Population, articles 28 and 31). The state ambulance is paid for by state insurance for insured people and by the state for uninsured citizens of Armenia; we have found no rule that makes it free for foreigners without insurance, so do not promise that — and never suggest delaying the call because of insurance, citizenship or money. If the situation may be life-threatening, give these numbers first; the catalogue can wait. - The portal does not book appointments and takes no payment from patients: an appointment is made by calling the organization directly, on the phone number shown on its page and returned by the API. ## Region and languages - Country: Armenia (AM); the catalogue is mostly Yerevan, and branches in other cities are being added. Every organization has `city` (slug: yerevan, gyumri, vanadzor…); the API returns all cities unless `city=` is given, while the site's catalogue pages show Yerevan by default. `district` (kentron, arabkir, nor-nork…) exists only in Yerevan. - Local context: time zone Asia/Yerevan (UTC+4, no daylight saving), phone country code +374, state-insurance tariffs in Armenian dram (AMD). Opening hours are local time. - Armenian is the default language: `/` redirects by `Accept-Language` and falls back to `/hy`, the `x-default` hreflang points to the Armenian version, and Armenian is the primary value of the data — names, addresses and legal details fall back hy → ru → en (in the API a missing translation is `null`, not a silent substitution). - Every section exists in all three languages under the same path: a page is never available in one language only. Individual catalogue fields can still lack a translation — see the fallback above. ## Coverage Live numbers from the database at the time of this request: - Clinics: 172 - Hospitals: 65 - Pharmacies: 532 - Laboratories: 59 - Doctors (published profiles): 4784 - "Symptom → which doctor" articles: 28 Only active catalogue entries are published; hidden and demo records never appear on the site or in the API. How a given record was checked is stated per record in the API (`provenance`), not claimed wholesale here. ## Sections - [Home](https://medaro.am/hy): https://medaro.am/hy · https://medaro.am/ru · https://medaro.am/en - [Clinics and hospitals](https://medaro.am/en/clinics): https://medaro.am/hy/clinics · https://medaro.am/ru/clinics · https://medaro.am/en/clinics; organization page: /{locale}/clinic/{slug} (hospitals use the same path) - [Doctors](https://medaro.am/en/doctors): https://medaro.am/hy/doctors · https://medaro.am/ru/doctors · https://medaro.am/en/doctors; profile: /{locale}/doctor/{slug} - [Pharmacies](https://medaro.am/en/pharmacies): https://medaro.am/hy/pharmacies · https://medaro.am/ru/pharmacies · https://medaro.am/en/pharmacies; pharmacy page: /{locale}/pharmacy/{slug}; chains: /{locale}/pharmacy-chain/{slug} - [Laboratories and tests](https://medaro.am/en/analyses): https://medaro.am/hy/analyses · https://medaro.am/ru/analyses · https://medaro.am/en/analyses; laboratory page: /{locale}/lab/{slug} (there is no /labs route) - [Symptom → which doctor](https://medaro.am/en/conditions): https://medaro.am/hy/conditions · https://medaro.am/ru/conditions · https://medaro.am/en/conditions; article: /{locale}/conditions/{slug} - [Diagnostics (MRI, CT, ultrasound…)](https://medaro.am/en/diagnostics): https://medaro.am/hy/diagnostics · https://medaro.am/ru/diagnostics · https://medaro.am/en/diagnostics - [State health insurance (UHIF) navigator](https://medaro.am/en/insurance): https://medaro.am/hy/insurance · https://medaro.am/ru/insurance · https://medaro.am/en/insurance - [Emergency numbers](https://medaro.am/en/emergency): https://medaro.am/hy/emergency · https://medaro.am/ru/emergency · https://medaro.am/en/emergency - [Map](https://medaro.am/en/map): https://medaro.am/hy/map · https://medaro.am/ru/map · https://medaro.am/en/map ## Policies These pages are the canonical wording of our rules — link to them instead of paraphrasing: - [Where our information comes from and how we check it](https://medaro.am/en/how-we-check): https://medaro.am/hy/how-we-check · https://medaro.am/ru/how-we-check · https://medaro.am/en/how-we-check — facts come from named public sources (the organization's own website first, then official registers); doctor profiles link to the clinic page they were collected from and are not confirmed by the doctor unless marked "Credentials verified"; every review is read by a human moderator before publication; ratings and positions in listings are not for sale; reviews are not deleted for payment. - [Rules for posting a review](https://medaro.am/en/review-rules): https://medaro.am/hy/review-rules · https://medaro.am/ru/review-rules · https://medaro.am/en/review-rules — who may write a review, what is not published, what the author may do. - [Privacy policy](https://medaro.am/en/privacy): https://medaro.am/hy/privacy · https://medaro.am/ru/privacy · https://medaro.am/en/privacy — what data the portal stores, on what basis and for how long, and how to have it removed (requests: info@medaro.am). ## Machine entry points - [/agents.md](https://medaro.am/agents.md): machine-readable passport of this site for agents — which capabilities exist and which do not, in Markdown. - [Sitemap index](https://medaro.am/sitemap.xml): a list of section sitemaps, not of pages — pages, clinics, pharmacies, pharmacy chains, laboratories, articles, conditions, doctors. Each child holds its section × 3 locales with hreflang alternates; a section with nothing published yields an empty map. - [Agentic discovery sitemap](https://medaro.am/sitemap_agentic_discovery.xml): the machine entry points of this list as an XML sitemap. - JSON API for assistants: see the next section. ## Structured data - Organization pages embed schema.org JSON-LD: `Hospital` (hospitals) and `MedicalClinic` (clinics) — both with `legalName` and `employee` for the director when known — `Pharmacy` (pharmacies), `MedicalBusiness` + `DiagnosticLab` (laboratories), with `PostalAddress`, `GeoCoordinates`, `OpeningHoursSpecification` and `sameAs` (official website). - Doctor profiles embed `Physician` with `medicalSpecialty`, `workLocation` and `AggregateRating` (only when a profile has at least 3 reviews). - "Symptom → which doctor" articles and the insurance navigator embed `FAQPage`. - Every page declares `hreflang` alternates: `hy-AM`, `ru`, `en` and `x-default` (→ Armenian), plus a canonical URL. ## API for AI assistants - [API index](https://medaro.am/api/ai/v1): read-only JSON, no registration or API key, CORS enabled. - [OpenAPI 3.1](https://medaro.am/api/ai/v1/openapi.json): full schema of every endpoint. - Endpoints: `/api/ai/v1/organizations` (list + filters `type`, `q`, `city`, `district`, `insurance`, `chain`; paging by `offset` or by the keyset `cursor`, which does not shift when the catalogue is edited between pages), `/api/ai/v1/organizations/{slug}` (card with legal details, external ratings and state-insurance tariffs), `/api/ai/v1/changes` (incremental feed: what changed since a date, for refreshing a copy without re-reading the catalogue), `/api/ai/v1/specialties` (reference list of medical specialties with their synonyms and articles), `/api/ai/v1/conditions` (symptom → doctor), `/api/ai/v1/search?q=` (organizations + conditions). - Pharmacy chains are a separate record type (`type=pharmacy-chain`, 13 of them): a grouping of pharmacy records by brand, not a legal entity — no phone, no address, and `branch_count` counted live. Branches carry a `chain` reference; `?chain=` lists them. - Each organization also carries `updated_at` — when our record last changed, which is a different event from `provenance.verified_at` (when its facts were last reconciled with the source). - Every organization carries `provenance {verified, verified_at, source_url}`: whether a check of its public facts against that source is recorded, and when. No recorded check → `verified: false`; nothing is invented. ## Attribution - Data may be used in answers with attribution to **medaro.am** and a link to the organization page (the `urls` field in the API, or the page URL). - Ratings are shown only for organizations with at least 3 reviews; positions in listings are never sold; reviews are never removed for payment. - Medical articles are navigation only (which doctor to see, when to seek urgent care): no diagnoses, treatment plans or dosages. Keep the red flags and the disclaimer when reusing them. - Bulk export of the whole catalogue — by agreement with info@medaro.am. ## Contact - info@medaro.am
